Boyer le atribuye la culpa de su demorada respuesta al señor D. Ladislao Martínez, quién debía entregarle una carta a Gutiérrez, pero todavía no lo había hecho. Sostiene que "sus diligencias han quedado infructuosas", porque Martínez aún no poseía el dinero solicitado, encontrándose "buscando dinero por todas partes y buscando comprador para venderle un terreno". Le sugiere a Gutiérrez que, en caso de no viajar a Buenos Aires, escriba una carta a Martínez, que el propio Boyer se encargaría de entregar.
